A.C.O.L.Y.T.E.S.

Xi Theta Omega sponsors a Teen Service Club, The A.C.O.L.Y.T.E.S. (Arlington Community of Lovely Young Teens Excelling in Service). The Chapter assists the group of young ladies in becoming involved in the community and having a positive impact on other area youth. The club will set a calendar of events that focuses on economics education for teenagers, including financial responsibility, developing leadership skills, college preparation, and providing meaningful service to the community.


Debutante Ball*

The Xi Theta Omega Foundation, in partnership with the Xi Theta Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., hosts an annual Scholarship Ball and Debutante Presentation for young ladies in their final year of high school. The four month program consists of monthly training modules, with presentations and activities focusing on health and wellness, education, etiquette, leadership development, cultural arts, and community service. Through these activities, our organization seeks to motivate and educate program participants to grow academically, professionally and culturally. The program culminates with a black-tie Scholarship Ball and Presentation during the fall of each year where the debutantes are presented to society and recognized for their participation in the program.


YES! Youth Education Success Summit*

Xi Theta Omega will partner with local colleges and organizations to sponsor a youth conference designed to develop and promote education, spirituality, and leadership skills in the middle and high school students. As a part of the conference, youth participate in small group interactive workshops with such topics as community service, conflict resolution, money management, cultural diversity, healthy living, communications, and college preparation.

Earnings Set Potential On Top of the Game

Youth Business Plan Competition- Xi theta Omega will partner with other organizations to sponsor a Youth Business Plan Competition targeted towards providing an opportunity to learn the basics of entrepreneurship for high school students with conducting research on the fundamentals of planning a business, to reinforce the values of college education in earnings potential, to increase self-confidence and understanding of how hard work pays off and to establish a sense of community responsibility. Students will present business plans to potential financial supporters and/or investors and implement a business set-up and operation.


Barbara Odom-Wesley Spirit of Achievement Scholarship*

Elzie Odom Leader of Tomorrow Scholarship*

The Xi Theta Omega Foundation, in conjunction with the Xi Theta Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., will be awarding two academic scholarships this year to deserving high school seniors who have displayed high scholastic and academic achievement. The 2009 Elzie Odom Leader of Tomorrow Scholarship in the amount of $1,000.00 will be awarded to one African-American male, and the Barbara Odom-Wesley Spirit of Achievement Scholarship in the amount of $2,500.00 will be awarded to one African-American female. The requirements for consideration of the scholarship include a minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale, a completed essay, letters of recommendation, attendance of high school in the Tarrant County area, and the applicant must be available for an in person interview.

Black Male Leadership Conference

The Architecture of a Man: Putting the Blueprint into Action – MALE LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE for Young Males grades 6th thru 12th grade on programs and workshops in leadership training, professional development, male mentoring, and cultural empowerment. This event is being sponsored by the DFW Chapters of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
