"United We Serve" - On June 22, 2009, President Barack Obama and First Lady Michele Obama kicked off their nationwide “Summer Service Initiative-United We Serve” that will culminate on September 11, 2009. This 81-day service initiative is a unique opportunity for Alpha Kappa Alpha to continue our service initiatives while supporting the President’s United We Serve. “Service” is what we do. Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. will join with our other Pan-Hellenic Council Organizations to continue our service initiatives while supporting the"United We Serve" initiative.
