I am delighted to bring you greetings on behalf of the ladies of Xi Theta Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated! The sisterhood of Alpha Kappa Alpha is the first Greek lettered sorority established by African American women. It was founded January 15, 1908, over 107 years ago on the campus of Howard University.

Xi Theta Omega Chapter was chartered on May 14, 1982 by twenty women with a vision. For over 33 years we have been efficiently serving Arlington and mid cities area. Through the years we have made a difference in lives by implementing service programs and activities which reflect the National program. We continue to enhance these communities and the world in which we live by supporting and executing the current International Program Initiative “Launching new Dimensions of Service” Educational Enrichment, Health Promotion, Family Strengthening, Environmental Ownership and Global Poverty are our five Initiatives.

The ladies of Xi Theta Omega Chapter are committed to uplifting communities and enhancing lives by being of “Service to All Mankind” in the 21st century.

Family Expo 2016

The Xi Theta Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and The Arlington Foundation for Excellence in Education, in partnership with Tarrant County College, will host its 20th Annual Arlington Family Expo, on Saturday, February 27, 2016 at Tarrant County College (Southeast Campus) located at 2100 Southeast Pkwy in Arlington, TX. This unique, complimentary family-focused event provides valuable resources to nearly 400 in and around Tarrant County.

Arlington Family Expo will address today’s growing need for financial responsibility and health awareness. The theme of the 2016 Expo is Exploring the Many Dimensions of Family Health and Wellness. Through this event, the Sponsors are able to raise awareness about health and financial issues that affect the community and increase community education and involvement.

Educational workshops allow participants of all ages to learn and discover new ways to maintain or improve their overall health and increase financial awareness. The younger children will be entertained through many age-appropriate and fun activities. Teen activities will focus on health and financial awareness through interactive seminars. The Arlington Family Expo offers free educational seminars that provide a wealth of information to broaden the attendee’s awareness about critical financial and health issues presented by Tarrant County Health Department and other community professionals.

The Expo also will feature a comprehensive health fair.  Exhibitors from the community are invited to provide educational materials on health issues, educational issues, issues facing children and teens, realty services, banking services and much more. Attendees will enjoy this complimentary event and lunch while receiving wonderful and exciting giveaways. During the event, there will be local entertainment.

The Family Expo is an event to remember and open for the entire family with the goal to Inform! Invest! Ignite! We hope you’ll join us this year!
